Automating Workflow for Radiologists
The Radiologist's workflow can be automated by incorporating the worklist sorting rules based on the study priority, alert, study received time, and the option to prevent reading physicians/performing physicians from opening a study that is not the top study in the configured sort order. By default, this feature is disabled.
To enable forcing reading and performing physician to open worklist study with the highest default sort, you must set the following two system-wide config entries to true:
- Enable Worklist default sort by Priority, Alert, Date
- Force Reading Physician to open worklist study with highest default sort
If the Radiologist opens a study with a lower priority, the popup message, "Oops! You've chosen a lower priority study. The study that's being opened is the next priority study in your queue which may be an addendum as well." appears, as shown. This message automatically disappears, and the system opens the study with the highest priority for the user.
If the reading physician or the performing physician opens a study that is already opened by another reading physician or the performing physician, the warning message, "Oops! You've chosen a study that is already opened by a Preliminary Reader. The study that's being opened is the next study in your queue which may be an addendum as well." is displayed to prompt the user to open the study with the next highest priority.
