Patient Default Languages

The Patient Default Languages form is a list of all the languages which can be populated in the Language drop-down menu of the Patient Info form. Once a language has been selected in this list, it is available as a possible language for a new patient. The list is accessible by going to RIS Settings > Patient Default Languages.

Patient Default Languages is an additional information about the patient. The patient may even decline to reveal their native language. It is not a mandatory field but, you will need to choose the widely/commonly spoken languages. You can determine what are all the possible languages that would need to be populated in the Patient Info screen based on the location of the facility, resources employed in the facility, etc. Whichever languages selected in this form will only be populated in the Language drop-down menu of Patient Info screen. The application is built with certain predefined languages to suit your business demand.

How to Choose Patient Default Languages​

The application provides two methods to execute. The first step in both the methods are common. Upon completion of step one, you will need to continue either with Method 1 or with Method 2.

  1. Click RIS Settings > Patient Default Languages. Patient Default Languages screen appears as shown below.

Method 1:

  1. Type the language name in the Language Search text field. While you type the language name, the typed text matches with database and gets filtered. As a result, you could find the matched record on top of the grid.
  2. Click checkbox found beside the language.
  3. Repeat steps # 2 & 3 to choose as many languages you require to populate in the Language drop-down menu of Patient Info screen.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Close to exit.

Method 2:

  1. Scroll through the list and click the checkbox found beside the language you wish to populate in the Language drop-down menu of Patient Info screen.
  2. Repeat step # 2 until you choose the widely/commonly spoken languages are all selected.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Close to exit.

Toggle All​

This functionality allows you choose all languages in a click of a button. This is the simplest and easy method to select all languages. However, you will need to click save to populate all languages in the Language drop-down menu of Patient Info screen.
