Introduction

Maintenance is an application that is installed along in the PowerServer or Gateway folder. It allows the user to modify settings for Database configuration and DICOM communication. It also provides the facilities for administering Disk Management and Licensing.

Any improper execution of these tasks can result in the loss of patient data and can severely affect the overall health of the PACS system. RamSoft strongly recommends that the Maintenance Module should only be used by RamSoft system integrators, or by properly trained technical personnel.

The Maintenance application can be accessed from <RamSoft Installation Folder>\Gateway for a Gateway PC or from <RamSoft Installation Folder>\PowerServer for a system using PowerServer.

The Maintenance module itself is very simple. It contains a Modify button at the bottom of the screen, and a menu tool bar. The Modify button can be used to alter the location of the displayed database. Its behavior is described in the Database Location section of this manual. The menu at the top is composed of several options that comprise the majority of the functionality found inside this application. The following is a screen shot of the Maintenance module.
