Voxar3D
Voxar is an application that performs 3D reconstruction, MPR, and MIP on images stored in the RamSoft software. For further details on Voxar 3D, please visit www.voxar.com.
Files required for Voxar integration are located in a subfolder within the installation folder. For Gateway, the default installation folder is C:\Program Files\RamSoft\Gateway4\Installers\Voxar and for PowerServer, the default installation folder is C:\Program Files\RamSoft\PowerServer4\Installers\Voxar. If the Voxar software is installed on a PowerReader, these files should be copied from the above folder on the PowerServer.
The following steps should be taken to integrate Voxar with a PowerReader or Gateway workstation:
-
Install Voxar 3D to the default location. (C:\Program Files\Barco\Voxar 3D\Voxar3D.exe) If Voxar 3D must be installed in a different folder, then the following registry entry needs to be edited to reflect the path change.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RamSoft\Server\ Voxar Path = <C:\Program Files\Barco\Voxar 3D\Voxar3D.exe>
-
Copy voxarlogo.bmp, voxarmask.bmp, and RamSoft.txt from the installation folder into C:\Program Files\Barco\Voxar3D.
-
Open RamSoft.txt.
-
Modify the value of the logo line to logo=C:\Program Files\Barco\Voxar 3D\voxarlogo.bmp.
-
Modify the value of the mask line to mask=C:\Program Files\Barco\Voxar 3D\voxarmask.bmp.
-
If necessary, modify the start up mode line. The possible modes available are: mprstandard, 3dstandard, 3dsegmentation, 3dtargetedreview. Modify startupmode=mprstandard to **startupmode=**mode, where mode is the desired mode.
-
If Voxar will be running on a grayscale monitor, modify usewhitetext=off to usewhitetext=on. If Voxar will be running on a color display, delete the entire line from the file.
-
If the resolution of the monitor that Voxar will run on is 2048x1536 or higher, change uselargetext=off to uselargetext=on. If the resolution will be less, remove the entire line from the file.
-
If the resolution of the monitor that Voxar will run on is 1600x1200 or higher, change uselargecursors=off to uselargecursors=on. If the resolution will be less, remove the entire line from the file.
-
Set fixedscreenarea to intended dimensions for the Voxar window. It is desirable for the Voxar screen to cover the Start menu. When using Voxar, it should be discouraged to switch to PowerReader/Gateway with Voxar running. (for 1024x768 display, fixedscreenarea=0,0,1024,768)
-
The storescu and printscu values determine the AE titles Voxar uses for sending and printing.
-
The facility and stationname entries should match the Institution Name and DICOM Station Name respectively.
-
The first remotescp should contain the DICOM parameters for the PowerServer/Gateway. Replace RAMSOFTAE with the DICOM AE Title for PowerServer/Gateway. Replace hostname with the IP address for PowerServer/Gateway. If the installation is on a PowerReader, this is the IP of the PowerServer. Replace 104 with the port for PowerServer/Gateway.
-
The second remotescp should contain the DICOM parameters for the DICOM printer. If no DICOM printer will be installed, then this entry should be deleted. To install additional printers, copy the entry and modify it accordingly.
-
Save and Close RamSoft.txt.
-
Open PowerReader/Gateway.
-
Open the Station List.
-
Add an entry for Voxar. The IP Address is the IP of the Gateway or PowerServer machine.
Once the above steps are completed, Voxar has been integrated. The Study Desktop toolbar will now contain the Voxar button. To use, click on a series to be reconstructed, and click the Voxar button. The series will automatically be sent to Voxar and reconstructed. Once the reconstruction and editing has been done, Voxar can send the 3D image back to the RamSoft software. The image will be stored as a new series within the current study.
