A

Access RapidResults Privilege granted to the role of any user wishing to access the RamSoft RapidResults.

Access to All Studies Privilege A privilege which permits access to any study in the system.

Access Type A menu used to determine the type of access a user will have e.g. View all studies, View all studies that satisfy the conditions below etc.

Acquire Tools Button The menu in PowerReader with various tools which can be acquired by pressing a button.

Acquiring Tools Helps acquire and manage patient information.

Acquisition Matrix A type of annotation populated by PowerServer. Displays the value of the acquisition matrix.

Activate Film Digitizer Toolbar Icon Opens a seven icon toolbar that is used to configure and initiate the scanning of images through a film digitizer.

Active Denotes if the item will be used in clinical operation.

Active Coverage Denotes if the insurance is being used by the patient

Active Fax The option which allows the Internet fax service users to send and receive faxes by email either manually or automatically.

Active Fax Radio Button The option which allows ActiveFax to be used as the default fax software.

Add Crop Grid Tool More precise variation of the Crop Region tool.

Adding a level The option which allows the user to add a level of annotation to the image display.

Additional Information A section in the 'Facilities' form where users can write Notes regarding the facility.

Additional Notes An area reserved for additional information.

Admin users This tab will not be seen for users who are not Admin users or have Post Charge privilege. The Admin tab allows the user to add Insurance, Study and Patient Information as well as Notes about the Study.

Administrative Privileges The highest level of permission that is granted to an user.

Administrator Privileges Administrators usually have every privilege e.g. the ability to create Default Viewing Protocols.

Advanced Studies Will open the study search screen in advanced mode, allowing the use of a wider range of possible search filters.

Advanced Tab Allows the configuration of additional settings.

AE Title Application Entity Title. An identifier used to retrieve images from a PACS server.

All Entries Menu A menu in the auto-text toolbar.

Allergies Allergies information will appear in red and as read-only (if available). An allergy is a sensitivity to a substance which does not normally cause people any problems.

Allow Scrolling to next Series button Checking this button allows the user to continue scrolling to the next series after reaching the last image of the first series.

Allowed Amount The amount covered by insurance for a procedure.

Allowed Film Sizes A list containing the various film sizes supported by the DICOM printer.

Always Overwrite Status (option) Selecting this option will cause all incoming studies to have the status selected in the Receive Study As field no matter what their previous status was.

Anatomic Focus An anatomic identifier more specific than Body Part, often indicating an organ or organ system. I.e.: Brain, Liver, Pancreas, Aorta or Knee.

AND Both conditions joined by "AND" need to be true for the study to be displayed on the Worklist.

Annotation Levels The display of annotations where each subsequent level contains less annotation information than the last.

Annotation Sensitivity Factor Value An algorithm used by the software to determine if they are too many collisions between the annotations and the image data on display.

Annotation tools Tools that gather/record quantitative information about areas of the image that cannot be computed by the human eye.

Annotations Descriptive text used to label or mark-up text/images and allows notes and comments to be added.

Annotations dialog The dialogue which allows the modification of default annotation settings.

Annotations Menu A menu used to make changes to any of the annotation fields. The menu consists of Deselect, Show Annotations, ROI Histograms, Filled, Delete, and a sub menu of Layers.

Appointment History A list of actions that have been performed in the study's lifetime.

Appointment History Tab Consists of all the appointments undertaken for the patient.

Appointment Information Form User needs to fill out any relevant information. Fields such as Patient, Facility, Comments, and Study Type have already been populated. The other fields such as Priority, Consulting Physician, Symptoms, and Reasons for Study can be added by the user. These fields are not mandatory. After all the necessary information has been filled out, the user should press the Book Appointment button located on the bottom right of the screen.

Archival List View of studies scheduled for archiving

Archive Button The button to manually archive a study.

Archive drop-down menu Is used to select the station from which studies will be received when the 'Open from Server' feature is used.

Archive Studies Older Than All studies older than the value defined in Maintenance are added to the Archival List

Assigned Personnel This tab allows the user to assign Physicians, Technologist and a Transcriptionist to the study. When the Outlook icon turns yellow, this indicates the Assigned Personnel has an email address and when the button is clicked, this will direct the user to Outlook Express to email the Assigned Personnel.

Assigned Personnel tab This tab allows the user to assign Physicians, Technologist and a Transcriptionist to the study. When the Assigned Personnel has an email address, the 'Envelope' icon is yellow. When the 'Envelope' icon is clicked, the user is directed to email the Assigned Personnel via Outlook Express.

Assigned Studies Studies assigned to a particular user.

Assigning Insurance Plans Allows users to assign the Insurance Company to the patient under the Insurance Plans that are available in the Study Info. The user can assign many Insurance Plans for each Insurance Payer.

Attached Email Option Will attach all the key objects in the current study to an email.

AU objects Audio Object. The scheduled modality for audio dictations

Audit Log Reports() pertaining to a specific entity for a selected time period which audit user activity within the system.

Audit Trail The trail a user leaves when accessing records in the system, which is recorded as entries in the audit log.

Authorization Number If a physician wants to perform a surgery, order a medical supply, or refer the patient to a specialist an authorization and approval by the health plan is required.

Auto Configure Button Used to set all monitors as Color monitor type by default. Will prompt you to confirm the auto configure.

Auto Crop Allows the configuration of additional settings

Auto Delete Task Purges DICOM objects when the servers storage is full. The studies that are removed are those that have been least recently used. Auto Delete will not delete studies that are on the Archival List or Transmit List.

Auto Email When enabled, PowerServer will automatically send an e-mail to the provided e-mail address.

Auto Fax drop-down menu that allows the user to automatically fax preliminary (unsigned) and final (signed) reports.

Auto Link Feature Will link related series of images together.

Auto Option When applying a Window/Level preset, allows the system to apply the optimal window preset for an image as determined by the software algorithm.

Auto Play Cine objects Option that plays the Cine objects as soon as the study is opened.

Auto Size (MG) Calculates and applies the best-fitting zoom level for a mammography image.

AutoFax Retry Times option The option attempts to send the fax a chosen number of times if it fails to go through at the first attempt.

Auto-load Current User Profile The option that enables all the dictations and queries which have been incorporated into Dragon VR by the user.

Automatic Configuration of Monitors Will automatically calculate the best positioning for various windows such as the Patient Explorer and the Image Viewing windows.

Automatically open study upon unique query option When enabled, the study found as a result of a barcode reader scan will be automatically loaded into the Study Desktop.

AutoText Auto-text is a portion of a text pre-existing in the computer memory, available as a supplement to newly composed documents.

AutoText button A button in the quick access toolbar of MS Word.

AutoText Toolbar A portion of the MS Word toolbar which is used to activate auto-text.

Available Connection Path definitions A list of all of the paths that have been created where studies can travel to get to their destination.

Axial Horizontal (Axial) Plane is any transverse plane passing through the body at right angles to the longitudinal plane, dividing the body into superior and inferior portions.
