Emergency Access
This functionality provides an immediate access to patient's study details for any user with the Emergency Access privilege. Access to the Emergency Access tab will be available once you log in to the system successfully. Upon every access by the user to view the study, the system creates a Study Access Log in the audit log. The study access log could be reviewed for compliance at any time. Emergency Access tab appears as shown below:
You will need to type in all details of the patient such as last name, first name, date of birth and the study date range from and to date and press Enter or click Search.
The application populates a confirmation message as shown below. As per HIPAA regulation, the reading physicians must have prior approval/authorization from the patient to view protected health information.
Click Yes to proceed. The application opens the patient's study details. You may access to the study normally.
