Glossary - B Entries

Backup Log Task

Extracts any entries in the System, Communication, HL7, Transmit and Request logs and exports them to CSV (comma separated values) files. Once exported, the entries are then deleted from the database.

Bandwidth

The maximum amount of data that can be transmitted over a medium, usually measured in bits per second.

Barcode Reader Scan

The system can be configured to automatically open a study based on the result of a barcode reader scan.

Begin a Group Option

Can be used to insert a line into the menu to group tools together. This is strictly an aesthetic modification and has no effect on the behavior of any of the tools.

Behavior Box drop-down controls

Controls the way in which the Cine behaves when it reaches its end.

Bits Per Pixel

The number used to determine the quality of the printed images.

Body Part

The part of the body examined. This is a more general anatomic identifier than Anatomic Focus.

Body Part Field

Specifies what body part(s) the Window/ Level preset applies to.

Bookmark dialog

A dialog which allows users to add and edit bookmarks in a Microsoft Word document.

Bookmarks

Bookmarking provides the ability to switch between studies without having to reorganize the layout and other customizations. Bookmarks are automatically saved when a study is closed if the user has been given the privilege to create them. Each user can only view the bookmarks they created

Boolean column

Used to toggle on or off the entries which require a Boolean operation of On/Off

Bounce

Will cause the Cine to reverse direction when it reaches the end or beginning.

Brightness

The tool used to change the brightness of an image.

Browse button

The button which allows a cover page to be added to the outgoing fax. Will be used for every outgoing fax.

Browse for Folder Window

Browser window to choose the drive or folder where the data is located

Burn Uncompressed Image

Allows the export of images in uncompressed format to CD
