LAN
A local area network (LAN) is a computer network covering a small physical area, like a home, office, or small group of buildings, such as a school, or an airport
Landscape
The orientation used for printing. Implies that the image will be printed with the width greater than the height.
Last Resource
Scrolls horizontally to the last resource
Last Run Status
Describes the completion status for the last execution of each task.
Lateralities dialog
A dialogue used to determine the number of entries available to users in the lateralities menu.
Laterality
Indicates patient position relative to the imaging beam. Where applicable, may take any of the following values: RIGHT, LEFT, BILATERAL, UNILATERAL.
Laterality drop-down Menu
Localization of function on either the right or left sides
Launch PowerReader
Launches PowerReader to view the current study.
Launch RIS button
The button which is used to launch RIS. Appears once the URL to invoke RIS has been entered.
Layers option
Opens the list of all the existing graphic layers.
Layout Tool
Clicking this tool will open the Setup viewport Layout dialog.
Length (Pixels)
The required resolution for the image length in pixels.
Load Report
A saved report can be opened through the report viewer by pressing this button
Local Cache
A RamSoft image cache that runs on a PowerReader workstation. It is dedicated to that specific instance of PowerReader.
Local Cache Contents
A list of DICOM objects that have entered the client's local cache
Local Cache Log
A list of DICOM objects that have entered the client's local cache
Local Setup
Settings relating to the client machine
Local Setup Dialog
View the Connection Path for your client.
Locations Button
Allows you to keep track of any location within your facility. This is required to hold any resources the facility may have.

Opens locations window
Lock toolbars
The option which locks the tool bar and prevents any editing of the toolbar. Accessed through Window - Toolbars - Lock Toolbar.
Logical Operators
Possible logical operators : AND, OR, NOT AND, and NOT OR.
Logoff
This will close the RapidResults.
Loop
Will cause the Cine to repeatedly start over every time the last frame is reached.
Lossless Compression
Digital data compression in which all the original data information is preserved and can be completely reconstituted.
Lossy Compression
Methods of digital compression in which the original information cannot be completely reconstituted
Lossy JPEG Quality track bar
Used to set the default JPEG quality factor used when performing JPEG lossy compression on images. A quality factor of 75 is the default.
