Facilities
A facility represents a physical site which contains anything that may be necessary to perform a study. The pre-configured facility option is a good place to start the creation of a new facility, even though it might not represent all the aspects of a particular facility. There are three options to define facilities in PowerReader. The Imaging Facility tab contains facilities with reading and performing physicians. These are the facilities which are performing the imaging. The Referring Facility tab contains facilities with all referring physicians. These are the facilities which are referring patients to the imaging facilities. The Other Facilities tab is used to define any facility which is neither a referring facility nor an imaging facility. These can include organizations such as radiologist groups and transcriptionists.
If a referring physician or a referring facility has a preferred set of reading physicians, transcriptionists etc which they want to use again and again, they can do so by creating a pseudo-facility with a subset of preferred radiologists or transcriptionists as its members. When the pseudo-facility is assigned to a particular study, it can be set to filter/limit the assigned personnel who will have access to that study.
