Acquiring Data

PowerReader has a set of Acquiring Tools integrated in the system for the acquisition and management of patient information. These tools allow the DICOM Import, scanning documents, use a film digitizer, or to import objects directly into a study.

The Import functions can be accessed from the File > Import.

	These functions are accessible from File > Import. Read the image data and add it to the database, along with the image(s).
	RamSoft product that possess Meaningful Use (MU) License will have an additional sub menu under Import. This submenu is to import a CCD/CCR file.
	To import objects directly into the study, click Import. The import will not read the image data but rather it will import the raw image into the current study and series selected in the Patient Explorer.
	To scan in a document select the Scan menu item. A toolbar will be displayed to permit scanning. This will add the scanned images to the current study and series selected in the Patient Explorer.
	The Film Digitizer icon opens a seven icon toolbar that is used to configure and initiate the scanning of images through a film digitizer.
	Acquiring images through the film digitizer will add the images to the current Study and Series selected in the Patient Explorer.
