Facilities A medical facility is, in general, any location at which medicine is practiced regularly. Medical facilities range from small clinics and doctor's offices to urgent care centers and large hospitals with elaborate emergency rooms and trauma centers.

Facilities List A list allowing the user to see studies that were done at a specific facility.

Facility Fee Schedule Selects which Fee Schedule to use from RIS Settings

Facility name The name of the facility the user belongs to.

Failed Indicates the transmit was attempted and failed. A study that has Failed has its priority value decreased by one. If after this demotion it is still the highest priority study in the list, it is reattempted immediately. If its priority value is now lower than other studies in the list, sending those studies will take place first. Once the Failed study becomes the highest priority again, it will be reattempted. The software will reattempt to send each failed study up to ten times.

Failed tab The tab in the fax log which displays all the faxes which have not been sent due to an error. A description of the error is also available in the log.

Fax attempt times option The option which attempts to send the fax a chosen number of times if it fails to go through at the first attempt.

Fax 'date and time of transmission' The status displayed in the Patient Explorer window stating the time and date of the transmission of a fax

Fax details window The form which opens up when the user chooses Fax New Recipient option. Allows users to enter the details for the fax.

Fax failed The status displayed in the Patient Explorer window when a fax has failed to be sent.

Fax new recipient Right-click menu option which allows the user to send a fax to new users.

Fax Number Reference to fax number for room

Fax queued The status displayed in the Patient Explorer window when the fox is in the process of being sent.

Fax Sender field The field displaying the name of the sender. Usually displays the name of the facility the fax is being sent from.

Fax Subject The subject of the fax.

Fee Schedule A complete listing of fees used by Medicare to pay doctors or other providers/suppliers. This comprehensive listing of fee maximums is used to reimburse a physician and/or other providers on a fee-for-service basis.

Fetching PowerServer performs DICOM Query and Retrieve operations against the configured Sources. The Fetch is done first to import all candidate studies into the local PowerServer, so that all relevant fields can be reliably found.

Filled Option Will fill the ROI with a solid color

Film Destination Refers to the bin that the output will be sent to.

Film Destination Field The output bin to deposit the printed images.

Film Digitizer The software used to scan and add documents/images in PowerServer.

Film Size drop-down menu A menu determining the size of film used by the DICOM printer e.g. 14INX17In

Filename delimited tab The tab in the configure option of the MDinTouch Slingshot application which allows the user to fill out account information from the MDWebtop Account

Filter(s) A processing method that enhances or removes a specific component in a signal or image. The name could reflect what is removed , what is enhanced, or the calculation that is used.

First Resource Scrolls horizontally to the first resource

Fit to Window option Will resize the images so the whole image is visible in the viewport it is being displayed in.

Fit Width Will zoom the image until it occupies the whole viewport according to its width

Flag Reminder or indicator that new data is available.

Floor Specifies a given floor within a facility

Font Size Factor The number used to determine the size of the the annotations that will be used when printing the image.

Force upper Case Option Can be used to force all the information entered into the search fields to be upper case. Any lowercase input will automatically be converted. This is done in order to work with certain devices that do not support lowercase queries.

Forward button Scrolls forward through the series

Frame Number A type of annotation populated by PowerServer. Specifically displays the frame number of each frame.

Freehand ROI tool Used by holding down the mouse button and drawing on the image by free hand. Once the mouse button is released, the beginning and ending points of the region are linked by a straight line in order to close off the region.

Frequency Column Has two possible values. Each task can either be run Daily, or it can be set to Off.

Fused Monitor Extended monitor setting in Windows whereby the application can be dragged across different monitors.
