How Do I Prevent Finalized Studies from being Modified?

As studies travel through the system, they are modified by users until they reach a status when they are finalized and become a legal record. These studies are now stored as proof of the work that was done. It is important that once studies reach such a status, they are not modified further. The default status that the system prevents modifications at is PRIOR, however this is only a suggested value. It is important that each site determines the point where this cut off should be set.

This value can be modified through the Setup Workflow dialog. This dialog is accessible by clicking Settings > Server Settings > Workflow.

Here, two values need to be modified. The Prevent Delete Status drop-down menu is used to determine the point at which objects can no longer be removed from the system. The Prevent Modification Status drop-down menu is used to determine the point where objects can no longer be altered. Both of these values need to be set up in accordance with the site Workflow.
