RIS Features

The RamSoft software can also be licensed as a Radiology Information System (RIS). It is available if the PowerReader software license is RIS-enabled. This section describes the features available in the RIS.

RIS allow users to store insurance information at the Facilities and Patient Information level. It also allows the scheduling of appointments through a Scheduler and has a Template Manager which allows customized report templates for certain users, roles or facilities. The software allows creation of multiple Ordered studies of a patient at one time. It stores Procedure Codes and Diagnosis Codes in a list that can be viewed by a user wishing to enter a Study Description. Specific options such as a Holiday List for the office is available and the option to define different Fee Schedules is also present. The option to define various Insurance Payers is also provided.

A feature of PowerReader is the incorporation of Meaningful Use criteria in the system. The RIS features associated with Meaningful Use are explained in the Meaningful Use Criteria section of the manual.
